The Ball and the Cross
Finished 6-19-02
I typed this in by hand from a library copy. I've found that typing books in is rather tedious -- in the future I think I'll stick with scanning. :)

These are typos I found in the book that I decided to change when producing the etext. (Just for the record, this is from the Philadelphia Dufour Editions, printed in 1963. It's a reprint of the 1910 edition.) If you find any typos in the etext that aren't listed here, please e-mail me so I can correct them in the next revision.
Chapter I
"St. Paul's" in paragraph 18 is printed "St Paul's" in the book.
"St. Paul's" in paragraph 48 is printed "St Paul's" in the book.
Chapter V
"comfortably" in paragraph 5 is printed "comforably" in the book.
Chapter VI
"attempting" in paragraph 58 is printed "attemping" in the book.
The second "contemptible" in paragraph 93 is printed "comtemptible" in the text.
Chapter VII
"pewter" in paragraph 28 is printed "pewer" in the book.
Chapter IX
"longitude" in the last paragraph is printed "longtitude" in the book.
Chapter X
"But France" in paragraph 82 is printed "but France" in the book. It could be that the preceding period is the typo (i.e. it should read "'No,' said MacIan, in a voice that shook with controlled passion, 'but France, which was taught...'"). I think the typo is the "but", however.
Chapter XV
"That is not a church" on page 192 (chapter 15) is printed "That is, not a church" in the book.
Chapter XVIII
"Quayle" in paragraph 3 is printed "Quale" in the book.
