Death of a Flame

1999–2000

Embers dying on a forbidden fire Life smothered Tiny red specks faintly glowing The last before giving up the ghost Wisps of smoke trail away Pulling the spirit out Into the sky Where it may room Until another flame sucks it down, Down to the earth, Blows life into it And once more the fire lives.
